IT Strategy / Project Planning

The foundation of good project management lies in effective project planning. When ServiceTech design your IT project plan it aims to develop two specific areas.

  • Preliminary action and investigation of the concept that will aid the determination of a set of defined objectives for the project.
  • A method of detecting the degree of shift away from the planned progress of the project and the defined objectives as a result of changing environments.

Here at ServiceTech, we firmly believe that the only thing that's certain, is that nothing is certain. Consequently, ServiceTech IT consultants aim to plan for both the changing business environment that all companies operate within and the internal changes brought about as solutions present themselves within the course of the progress of the project.

Not that we claim to foretell the future! ServiceTech consultants are however able to build effective control methods into the project at the planning stage in order to measure progress against internal and external changes. This way we are able to manage change, relative to the project, effectively.

  • Built into the plan will be the following realistic measurement tools for planning for change:
  • The development of practical milestones
  • The regular testing of the "gap" between the objectives and the emergent design of the IT system
  • Regular, scheduled testing of the emergent design itself to assess whether the project objectives are being met
  • Scheduled assessment and correction if necessary, of the plan itself
  • Continuous assessment of risk of change

By planning for the changes that will inevitably affect your IT project, ServiceTech can exert the necessary strategic thinking that will form the backbone of effective project management.
